Kansas appears to be building off its strong 2027 recruiting class. The Jayhawks landed a commitment from four-star infielder Amiyah Currie.
"Some decisions are made with your head, but the right ones are made with your heart. From the first time I stepped on campus, Kansas felt different," Currie told Softball America. "The coaches made me feel seen, believed in, and genuinely wanted. Their passion for this program and for their players is something I knew I wanted to be a part of. I don't just love Kansas for what it can give me as a player — I love it for the people who are going to help shape me into the person and athlete I'm meant to become. I couldn't be more excited to call Lawrence home."
Currie plays Armor Elite Gold O’Neal team and has a bat to fit the Kansas lineup. She came out swinging offensively this summer. Her strength has improved, and she's shown the ability to square up pitches across different parts of the zone. Right now, she projects as a utility infielder at the next level, playing at third base or in the middle infield.
The Jayhawks put together a really strong 2027 group and are trying to build off the best season in Lawrence in recent memory.
