The Herd added another talented player to their future. Four-star recruit Kyndall Johnson announced her commitment to Marshall on Tuesday.
“I chose Marshall University because I believe it’s the perfect place to grow both academically and athletically," she told Softball America. "I feel this coaching staff will push me to reach my full potential and develop me into the best athlete I can be. I’m excited for the opportunity to compete at the next level, challenge myself, and grow as a player and person. I can’t wait to begin this next chapter as a Thundering Herd.”
Johnson brings power and versatility to the lineup, and her résumé includes time with the Junior National Team. The pop shows up mostly to her pull side, where she stays in her legs through the swing and drives from her back hip. She does her best work on the inside half of the plate, and her quick barrel lets her get on inside pitches before they can tie her up.
This is a nice recruiting win for Morgan Zerkle, fresh off an NCAA Tournament appearance.
