One way or another, Nola Tylke was going to find her way to the Midwest. After previously being committed to Missouri and later decommitting following the announcement of the 5-for-5 rule, Tylke announced on Sunday that she’s joining the 2027 Kansas recruiting class.
“Kansas stood out because the coaches genuinely got to know me, believe in the player I can become and made me feel wanted,” Tylke told Softball America. “Coach McFalls, Coach Gwyn, Coach Heberling and Coach Lewis bring incredible experience, and I’m excited to learn from all of them. The players and culture showed me I could grow, have fun and get after it.
I can’t wait to help build on Kansas momentum, compete in the Big 12 and study exercise science on my path to physical therapy. My journey took an unexpected turn, but at Kansas I found exactly where I was meant to be.”
Tylke is a true middle infielder; she combines raw power with consistent contact, capable of driving the ball out of the park while also stringing together a high batting average. The Kansas class was smaller than most as signing day approaches in November, leaving an open spot for Tylke. She’ll join future teammates, including four-star pitcher Braylee Spence, as well as outfielders JLeeVan Driel and Kayleigh Allen.
The PGF All-American has developed under the Beverly Bandits organization. She’ll make the move west from Acworth, Georgia, where she plays at Harrison High School.
